We expect our residents to be actively involved in an individual recovery plan. We facilitate in- house AA and NA meetings, and all residents are subject to supervised drug and alcohol testing. Our homes are smoke free but there are plenty of designated outdoor Alcoholics Anonymous smoking areas. As individuals heal, they can mend relationships damaged by substance use. The H.O.W. House is nestled in between Lower Mills and Adams Village in Dorchester, MA. The property is situated on a quiet dead end, near the Ashmont Train Station. The close proximity of the house to the MBTA allows the women to get to meetings, work anywhere in Boston and the surrounding area, and gain independence without the use of a car. World Famous Santarpio’s PizzaSome say it’s one of Boston’s most famous restaurants. Still owned and operated by the Santarpio family, the award winning pizzeria is prized for its pies but also serves an assortment of other foods. Each guest can expect a clean bed, sufficient clothing storage, HDTV w/ cable and free wifi in every room inside a clean, well maintained home cared for by the guests who stay there!
Depending on the need Arlo House helps clients with employment searches along with exploring educational and volunteer opportunities. Teras is located two miles away from Tharros (both Tharros and Teras are in Lexington MA). This less structured residence is designed to support clients when they have 25+ hours of work or other outside structure weekly, which can be developed with assistance from our team, in the first 30 days.
